Research and publishing in architecture transform ideas into culture, uncertainties into fields of experimentation, the observable into the thinkable and the invisible into a reality. New Moon is an editorial project that aims to open up collective conversations. It engages in technical, theoretical and academic explorations that promote a research-practice approach and critical thinking. It was founded in 2023 by Barrault Pressacco.
Editorial direction : Thibaut Barrault (FR), Cyril Pressacco (FR), Ourania Vivien (FR)
Team : Helena Andersson (SWE), Jacopo Anzolin (IT), Sandra Arnaudo (FR), Sarah Bastide-Carrière (FR), Rémi Désir (FR), Bérengère Fornalczyk (FR), Pia Lepetit (FR), Heather Moss (CA), Guillaume Prevost-Bouré (FR), Tadeusz Pruszkowski (FR).
Culture and Forms of Repurposing
"Objets Trouvés" is an invitation to think collectively about the subjects of reuse and repurposing of materials in order to add a necessary cultural and disciplinary dimension. This project brings together forty-two international practices to speculate on the transformation of a series of objects and builds new indulgent and poetic views with the material heritage that surrounds us.

Winter school 2024 Ensa Paris-Est
ENSA Paris-Est's Winter School raises questions related to reuse, repurposing and recycling. The first method preserves function, the second form, the third matter, but they all structure a more indulgent approach to the material heritage that surrounds us.

The architectural fields of exploration in the coming decades will be linked to heritage renovation, thermics and natural materials. This study presents a new perspective on insulation, combining prospective and experimental visions. The research is carried out in the Brussels-Capital Region, and takes hempcrete as its starting point.

BAP!
“In Ground We Trust” is the combination of a sculpture, Mandala, and two photographs, Prélèvements. The Prélèvements are records of the original soils, each one bearing witness to the provenance of the resources. Mandala combines two natural materials: stone, a fragment of the soil, and wood, a product of the soil.

Nature and culture of insulation. Building with hemcrete.
Wallness, through technical and cultural considerations, overturns the act of building and opens up a conversation. Insulation is now an integral part of the repertoire of architectural elements, while thermal engineering reveals unsuspected fields of construction. Wallness expands the role of the wall, summoning up all its components and defining a new rationality.
